Viridi Edge is expanding our network of experts and is looking for Creative, Collaborative, Connected, Urgent and Trusted energy professionals who are passionate about building a better energy future.

This is a contract-based, primarily remote role with occasional in-person meetings in the New England region.

The ideal network members are experienced Energy Consultant (Independent Contractor) who will support client engagements focused on energy strategy, infrastructure planning, and distributed energy solutions.

Consultants will work directly with clients to analyze energy data, develop actionable energy roadmaps, and support the implementation of strategies that improve cost efficiency, resilience, and sustainability. This role involves evaluating distributed energy opportunities, assessing grid and infrastructure constraints, and helping organizations navigate the evolving energy landscape.

Responsibilities may include:

• Analyzing energy usage data and identifying opportunities for optimization

• Developing strategic energy roadmaps and implementation plans

• Supporting project and program management for energy initiatives

• Collaborating with clients and internal team members to deliver feasible high impact solutions

• Evaluating opportunities for solar, energy storage, and other distributed energy resources

• Advising clients on energy infrastructure, grid integration, and regulatory considerations

• Preparing report and executive presentations

• Strong understanding of the energy industry trends and opportunities

• Experience with distributed energy resources

• Knowledge of the grid infrastructure, utility programs and energy policy and regulatory landscape

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills

• Proven project and program management experience

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a distributed team

Preferred experience:

• Experience in energy consulting, utility, renewable development, or energy infrastructure development

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and grid interconnection

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field

• MBA or advanced degree is a plus
